Status: Screaming in a Pillow.

I'm scrabbling my way through today so tightly strung that I have to choke back tears each time the next calamity strikes. It's not a pleasant way to bide the time.

The Nut Shell:

The van is at the dealership, $900 down and only one of the problems actually fixed (the EGR valve, for the curious and mechanically savvy). We're also up to four different "diagnostic tests", which I can only imagine will result in a sky-high bill at the end of the day. Day? Week? Who knows.

Daisy spilled water into the $120 cordless keyboard last night. For a while it would insert random characters into the text and muted the volume when I pressed the email hotkey, but it has evolved into an infinite loop of sleep mode - wake up - sleep mode - wake up which I had to kill by unplugging and shooting it. This didn't help me get my work done. It died right as I was typing out the shipping quote for the ONE customer who has been nagging for me two days. Of course.

I keep trying to get Daisy to walk to the pet store with me, but she keeps coming up with excuses not to go out, and she's currently naked, eating Doritoes and watching television. Has she got the right idea??

Van Update: the Central Multiport Fuel-Injection System needs to be replaced. If you think that sounds expensive, you're right! Hello, extra $1200. Too bad I never got to know you.

Personal to Nicole:

Don't read the next bit.

Personal to Mr. Tubbs:

Goodbye, Pete. I hope heaven is a comfy bed, full of all the food you never got to eat. Meow.

Just wait until his next life. It'll be heaven.
